The Cowichan Performing Arts Centre’s brand-new fall lineup of shows includes something for everyone with stand-up comedy, pop-rock music concerts, dance, family-friendly special presentations and more. But first, kicking off the season, is a free film screening of Walking Through The Fire: Sultans of String Visual Album on Friday, September 18. This free event is in support of Culture Days, a national festival celebrating the arts and heritage in Canada with free events all over the Cowichan region with participating cultural organizations. Canadian comedian Brent Butt is sure to bring the laughs on his tour stop in Duncan on September 23. After a sold-out presale for the October 1 event, The Price is Right LIVE has added a second show in Duncan on October 2 with VIP tickets available.
On October 4, the CPAC welcomes world renowned Quartetto Gelato to the stage for an evening of celebrated classical masterworks with an international twist! Back by popular demand, The Boo Revue! brings a spook-tacular spectacle for kids of all ages with their colorful, black light puppet show on October 16. But there’s more at the CPAC than what’s on stage: Volume One and Anansi Press host An Evening with Author & Artist Jackie Morris in the lobby for an intimate audience interview with CBC’s Gregor Craigie on October 17.
Can’t miss concerts coming up this fall include: The Piano Men starring Jim Witter on October 20; The Great Canadian Road Trip Tour with Doc Walker, Jason McCoy and Michelle Wright on October 22; Tom Cochrane Duo on November 1; and a nearly sold-out Amanda Marshall Dirty 30s Tour on November 22. Tickets to returning holiday favourites like The Royal City Youth Ballet’s The Nutcracker on December 5 and Winter Harp on December 13 are on sale now.
