That enduring connection is at the heart of Take It To The Limit – The Music & Legacy of the Eagles, coming to the McPherson Playhouse in Victoria on November 1 at 7 PM.
From Hotel California and Take It Easy to Desperado, Lyin’ Eyes, Heartache Tonight and Take It To The Limit, the production celebrates the soaring harmonies, musicianship and emotional storytelling that made the Eagles one of rock’s most influential bands.
For Musical Director and performer Tom McKillip, a BC Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, it’s about more than simply reproducing familiar recordings.
“We have a deep respect and reverence for these iconic songs, and it fills us with joy to play them,” says McKillip.
That commitment is reflected in the production’s approach: every note is performed live on stage, with no backing tracks, auto-tune or pre-recorded musical elements.
And audiences have noticed.
“If you closed your eyes you would swear you were listening to the Eagles,” wrote one audience member following a performance in Sacramento. Another called the show “an epic concert.”
For vocalist and guitarist Luke Isaac, that connection with the audience is at the heart of every performance.
“I hope the audience will experience what we experience, which is having fun, singing along, reliving these songs and connecting together as fans of this amazing music!”
