The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria has a rich mix of exhibitions on now and on the horizon, offering audiences a chance to connect with art across cultures and centuries.
Currently showing through April 27, 2029, A View From Here reimagines the AGGV’s collections in two distinct spaces. The Roger Lee Gallery of Asian Art showcases jade, lacquer, ceramics, and Yixing teapots, while the Graham Gallery highlights Canadian and Indigenous works, from Emily Carr to Meryl McMaster. Together, they invite visitors to rediscover the collection from fresh perspectives.
Opening December 6, 2025, Fifty Shades of Ink explores the depth and subtlety of traditional ink painting. Inspired by the classical idea that “ink has five shades,” this exhibition presents works from the collection alongside historic ink sticks and stones.
Also upcoming is sheeshe ‘ch thareṛ | a crack in the mirror (November 22, 2025 – April 12, 2026), organized and circulated by The Reach Gallery Museum; guest curated by Sajdeep Soomal. A survey of recent works by artist Simranpreet Anand, including collaborative pieces with artist and ethnomusicologist Conner Singh VanderBeek. With synthetic and everyday materials, Anand reflects on diaspora, memory, and modernity in striking, unexpected ways.
