FACULTY CONCERTS
Be inspired by the passionate and creative minds who teach, lead, and innovate at UVic. On Sept. 29 Merrie Klazek celebrates global connection and the release of her award-winning album, Dance Around the Sun. Hornist Sam McNally and pianist Jany Lu share music inspired by the night and the stories we tell before bed on Oct. 23. Hear Masterworks for Piano Trio on Jan. 22 with Pamela Highbaugh Aloni (cello) and guests Kerry DuWors (violin) & Futaba Niekawa (piano) and guitarist Simon Farintosh in an evening of stunning artistry on Feb. 27.
GUEST ARTISTS
This season brings back audience favourites alongside exciting new voices. On Oct. 1 Berlin-based pianist Joseph Houston plays works by Canadian and British composers, including UVic alumni, and on Oct. 6 and 7 pianist Minsoo Sohn returns for two unforgettable all-Beethoven concerts.
String quartets abound! Poiesis Quartet—quickly becoming one of the most exciting young ensembles on the scene—performs on Oct. 22. On Jan. 11 Cuarteto Bellas Artes celebrates their journey from UVic students to one of Mexico’s premier quartets, and the Viano Quartet returns on Mar. 1.
